First stop Vancouver

Well, after 28 hours, -30C, 17 caribou, 3 mouse and two unidentifiable rodents, we made it to rainy Vancouver. We quickly fell into our west coast mantra “It is snowing in the mountains, it is snowing in the mountains”. However, we are on a biking trip so it is less relevant. We went to the Norco factory today and picked up our new bikes. For 2010 we will be riding a Norco Fluid SE. So far, very sexy and black. Love them!

We are about to head into the US. We are hoping to cross tomorrow, but we will see. Seems we are having a ‘colour’ issue with our expo tent, which simply will not do!

Pictures will follow soon. We are just waiting for the bikes to be put together.

Take care!

Ready to go!

Well in two weeks exactly we will be back on the road! Can’t wait! Our Boréale expo tent is finished and waiting for us in Vancouver, promo t-shirts being printed, materials needed for the shows are all boxed up. Sylvain couldn’t resist and bought the puppies two American Apparel t-shirts for dogs and is having them branded with our logo. We put them on the other day to see if they would fit, man those were some unimpressed husky mutts! I seriously can’t wait to take them into the cities, walk them on a leash (ha!!) and in their clothes! I am sure we will only have one opportunity for a photo before they attack us (or cause some international disturbance with those damned leashes), so I will try to make it a good one! Wild husky mutts with clothes on AND on leash. What next?

We are just about ready to re-launch our online presence. We’ve done a major overhaul of the website for 2010. New packages, new partners, social media outlets – all good stuff. It has been quite the learning process, but I am confident that it will make sense to us soon! Dare I say we are getting it? Maybe it is a little early for that statement.

Bonne journée!

Progressing along…

With daylight hours shrinking and temperatures dropping, we are using the down time to finalize all of our trip preparations. This involves mostly working with Alloy Creative to finalize all of our marketing materials, like our expo display and giveaways for the public. It is looking good!

New for 2010 will be a few specialized packages. We are partnering with a women’s only tour operator Wild Women Expeditions to offer ar a week long Yukon riding retreat for women June 27 – July 3, 2010. Please check their website for more information!

Boréale will be joining forces with Ryan Leech, professional mountain biker and yoga instructor, to offer a wicked riding and yoga package.

The dates are July 3-9, 2010 and it will be a 6 day all inclusive Yukon riding and yoga retreat. Sessions will be led by Ryan and together we will explore the best of our North of 60 singletrack! More info available on our website.

Speaking of our website, we should have a new site up and running by next week, thanks to Design Station. All our 2010 packages and dates will be available, along with new pictures from mountain bike photographer Dan Barham.

Gone all ‘interactive’

Morning!

Well, Boréale has fully embraced the world of social media. Please become a fan on facebook “Boreale Mountain Biking”. As soon as I figure out how to shorten the URL (having issues with the cell phone number…) I will post it. Currently the URL is about 7,000 characters!

We are also tweeting. Follow us! Boréale on Twitter. Have any ideas of who Boreale could follow? Send ‘em my way.

I think we will send tweets daily, update the blog daily, and then facebook will post new stuff related to the business only. Should work? Our new website should be live by the weekend. We will have a tonne of new photos and new packages for 2010. Looking forward to it!
