Finally home in the Yukon
Yep, it’s true. We are officially home for the season! Our promotional US road trip was an awesome time. Great experiences and we have learned a lot! Now, with one day of rest, we are off to meetings and planning the 2010 Yukon riding season. It is an exciting time up here as we now have two paid trail crews building and more importantly, maintaining our mtb trails! The mtb community is on fire, lots of great events planned for the upcoming season in Whitehorse and Carcross. Good times!
We just had a cancellation and now have two additional spaces available for the Ryan Leech Ride and Reach retreat this July. If you were thinking of coming, here’s your chance!
Here is the last of the nsmb.com Yukon trip report http://www.nsmb.com/3613-yukon-part-iii The trails in Carcross are now introduced to their mtb community! And man, I wish the snow will melt a bit quicker - I want to ride there!

The 2010 season approaches
Well after 2.5 months, our western US promo trip has wrapped up. We made it back to Whitehorse, safe and sound. It was a blast, we were able to ride on many of the local favourites and had a great time doing so. But after all that riding, man it makes us impatient for the Yukon season to start! Our riding up here is fantastic, and we haven’t seen anything that compares in terms of amount of trails, length of trails and overall fun factor. Yukon riding rocks!
We spent a week in Squamish receiving our mountain bike instructor certification. Great course, so much to comprehend! This summer Team Boréale will be offering special introductory mountain bike day trips complete with mt bike instruction and a guided ride. We will also be offering skills clinics this summer for locals. Keep an eye out for beginner adult and youth clinics, offered with the intent to get more people out riding our singletrack goodness! Also on the books will be various youth mountain bike skills camps, and likely a weekend kids group ride!
Think warm thoughts people, let’s melt that snow!

Seattle expo wrap up
Well, our throats are a bit tender and our voices are significantly lower from all our chatting this past weekend! The show is the largest consumer bike show in North America and wow we can see why. Tonnes of exhibitors, all sorts of products out catering to both the roadies and the fat tire fans. Of course our aim were the mountain bikers! We were hoping to catch the eye of a few people - turns out we were swamped almost the entire show. Thankfully our designer from Alloy Creative, Kealy Sweet, was able to join us at the last minute and talk the good talk to expo go-ers! We definitely needed the extra body to help field questions and help flip the pages of our photo album. It was a pretty awesome feeling to watch people turn from hmm, what is this, to wow, really? and then they lean in and want more information! Pretty easy to sell when you have an awesome product!
We were able to catch a few of the bike entertainment exhibits and caught a show with our friend Ryan Leech, pro trials rider. He was also doing a complimentary yoga session each morning for expo participants. We were too busy at the booth to take a class, but we are lucky enough to be able to catch up in July, when Ryan comes to the Yukon to lead a yoga and riding retreat at Boréale!
Were you at the show? Like what you saw? Head over to our facebook page and become a fan! http://www.facebook.com/borealebiking - We love to answer questions!

Ryan Leech is also doing two yoga sessions in the mornings, which is included in your day pass. We will be on the second floor with lots of pictures of Yukon riding and our yurtville to tempt you North this summer!
